What is a
Village Plan?
A
Village Plan is a document prepared by the community. It describes what
the community would like to see happen to their parish in the future.
Therefore it :
• Identifies local problems and opportunities
• Sets out a vision for the future
• Prepares a plan of action to achieve this
vision.
Progress
so far
Following the
preliminary consultation that took place earlier this year, the Parish Plan
Steering Committee made an application for funding to enable a full consultative
process to take place and for it to publish its results.
We are
pleased to announce that our bid was met in full - unlike many bids from
neighbouring villages.
We held an
Open Day on 17th June 2006 in the village hall when residents had the
opportunity to examine a number of documents and question the Steering Committee
on the whole process and what might realistically be achieved.
The
Questionnaire
Questionnaires
were distributed to every household
in the parish.
Each resident
of the parish, young and old, had the opportunity of completing a
questionnaire. We had a completion rate well over 80%, so well done to everyone.
Your answers are important
and will help shape the future of the parish.
The Action Plan
Your answers have been fully analysed and an Action Plan
drawn up with a view to implementing many of your recommendations. This was published in full and distributed to every household
during October and November 2007.
A copy
of the Plan, in PDF format, can be downloaded here.
(Please
note this is a large file - 7mb!)
Public Meeting
A public meeting to launch the Plan and to update residents of
its findings, as well as identifying the way forward, was held on Wednesday
21st November 2007 in the Village Hall, Fivehead.
