Malcolm Cavill New House Farm

I was born at West Monkton Taunton, at the foot of the Quantock Hills. Apart from 7 years whilst in the services of the Nat West Bank, I have lived in Somerset all my life.

I was educated locally at West Monkton and Taunton. Married to Sandra, a school receptionist, we have two children, Rebecca, a practicing vet, & Richard, who since graduating university is working for the Somerset County Gazette. Qualified in Banking and Farm Management, I took the tenancy of New House Farm in Oct 1985.  As a keen countryman I believe that we are fortunate to live and raise children in a village environment and wish to see a practical, level-headed, approach to village affairs.

It has been my privilege to serve on Parish Council since 1999, and as Chairman since 2000.

I have lived in Fivehead for 29 years and been active on the Parish Council for the last 12.

I am married, a mother of two grown-up children and now a grandmother. I have a background in maths and computing and worked for many years as an ICT Technician at Bishop Fox’s School Taunton. I have an interest in the welfare and education of young people and have been a school governor in Taunton and Curry Rivel. I am also interested in protecting the environment and organised two recent litter collections in Fivehead. I have represented the Parish Council at the Somerset Association of Local Councils.

Send a message to Robert here

Robert Fielding Stillbrook Farm.

I have been in the village since 2004, a parish councillor since  2008, born and educated in South London, married to Rachael with four grown up children and five grandchildren (soon to be six).

I am a retired Royal Navy and commercial helicopter pilot and flew in the Middle East and Nigeria. Following a series of spectacular accidents including ditching a helicopter in the Persian Gulf I gave up flying to carry on a less hazardous pastime while I had a few lives left. My wife and I now run our own business supplying quality student accommodation in a university town in the Midlands. Interests include travelling, flying and all things aviation,  the outdoors, shooting, DIY and building.

Send a message to Laura here

Laura Howard  The Old Manse

I was born and brought up in rural Yorkshire, so I am a country person at heart but spent my working life in London. I moved to Fivehead with my husband on my retirement in 2008.

Previously I was an active member of a Crime Prevention Panel, helping the young, particularly during the holidays and also protecting the old and the vulnerable. I was also on the Committee of the “Friends of Battersea Park”, ensuring a safe environment for all, be it mums with prams, dog walkers, organised games such as cricket and football and concerts in the park. I hope to bring a level-headed, common sense approach to affairs of the village, which in our short time here I have grown to know and love.

Send a message to Ken here

Ken Male Tanyard Farm

Born at Tanyard Farm and worked here since leaving Brymore School at 18.  I have been a Parish Councillor since 1982, being chairman for ten of these years. At this time council was involved with Council House refurbishments, Langford Farm and Lambert Hut developments, and initial ideas and plans for a new Village Hall.

I enjoy and appreciate our Parish and wish to see it continue to prosper.
