   Church Diary

Welcome to St Martin’s, dedicated to the Roman soldier who gave half his cloak to a starving beggar and St Catherine’s, the saint who was martyred for her faith on a wheel. You will find both saints depicted in canvas paintings on the reveals of the east window in St Martin’s chancel.

We are part of the Isle Local Ministry Group within the Crewkerne & Ilminster Deanery in the Diocese of Bath & Wells. Both churches are listed Grade I, are part of a United Benefice with St Andrew’s, Curry Rivel and stand as witnesses to the worship of God over the centuries and provide to those who meet within these walls, peace and great strength in the knowledge and love of God.

If you do not attend services, you are always welcome to enjoy a few moments of quiet prayer and reflection.  Both churches are open during the day and welcome visitors.  In fact we have signatures in our visitors’ books from people all over the world, many of whom with ancestors from this area.
